One more tick on my travel wish list ! Finally made it to the Peacock sanctuary
Morachi Chincholi is an ideal weekend gateway from the hustle-bustle of the city. Morachi Chincholi by the name itself means a village of tamarind trees & dancing peacocks. 50 kms from Pune the route to this place is mesmerizing with lush green farms, mountains, color changing skies and chirping birds.

This was my first experience staying in a home stayand it was awesome - different and worth an experience. The staff were warm and helpful.

We started from Mumbai on Saturday morning at 7.00 am and reached Pune by 11.30 am as we drove slow and took some stops to munch hot pakora and chai. On the way we did not miss to eat local vada-pav with ghati chutney. From Pune it took us 1.5 hr to reach Morachi Chincholi via Pabal goan.

When we reached there the first thing I heard was the pehoo, pehoo of the peacocks. The background score made me dance with joy and was curious to watch them. We parked our bags in the cottage alloted to us and had lunch. The pure veg meal included delicious Masawadi, Pital, Chuliwarchi bhakri, Mirchicha Thecha, Karalachi Chatani, Kadhi, Suki Bhaji, Chapati,  aamras, puri, puran poli, Waran Bhat, Koshimbir, Lonche and Buttermilk.

We then headed for a bullock cart ride and followed by tractor ride which was a first time experience for me.

The weather was cloudy and there was cool breeze around. We moved to the peacock spotting point and waited for the beauties to come. One by one we could spot them and at one point we saw 40-50 together. I kept my fingers crossed and wished to see them dance and there 2 of them got in full mood, spread their wings and danced.

It was the most beautiful thing that I had ever seen to spot this majestic bird dance with all his might. It felt like all my goals at Morachi Chincholi to see peacock dances were accomplished.
By now it was sunset and all I did was took a small swing and heard jagit singh gazals on repeat mode. Kiska chera ab mein dekhooo.. hmmm"

Our cottage (home stay) was 2-kms away from the resort so post dinner we headed back there. The rooms were very clean and had facilitates like AC/double bed, TV, western washrooms. The lady greeted us with Kokum sharbat. We had awesome home made food for dinner and gazed the stars from the terrace of the bungalow.

The next day morning myslef and my partner in photography head started at 6am to the farms in search of peacocks and we got lucky and spotted 3 of them. As soon as they heard our footsteps, swoop they ran off. We also got lucky & saw magpie robbin, kingfisher, egret, crane, pelican and tiny sparrows. The sky changed its colors from orange to red to yellow and grey. Nature was at its best and was kept me speechless.

The rest of my clan were still lazing around in their beds while I captured these moments on my lenses and  headed back to the cottage. We still had some outdoor games, magic show and a few more activities pending so we finished them all and started back to Mumbai.

I left the place in the evening with a heavy heart as it was hard to leave such a beautiful place. Morachi Chincholi was one of the best places I have ever visited so far, it was better than I could imagine it. I had a wonderful time at Morachi Chincholi and made many unforgettable memories. I would recommend  Morachi Chincholi to those who are planning to go for a picnic with family or friends & love simplitcyt, peace and are nature lovers. Morachi chincholi is a unique place which offers an extraordinarily wonderful experience with the profound beauty of nature and leaves the visitors speechless.
